Dichiarazioni di Thomas Evans – 13 aprile 2018

Nella giornata del 13 aprile, dopo l’incontro che il giudice Hayden ha chiesto all’avvocato di parte della famiglia Evans, Thomas Evans ha rilasciato delle dichiarazioni pubbliche ai giornalisti presenti.

Pubblichiamo le dichiarazioni sia in lingua italiana che inglese. Seguendo sarà anche possibile visionare il video della conferenza stampa rilasciata in questa occasione.

Versione italiana

Nell’arco di sei ore l’Alder Hey ha ricevuto questo avviso. L’Alder Hey ci ha messi in fase di stallo per sei ore di proposito. L’Alder Hey stava mettendo pressione sui dottori di Tom, dicendo che stavano rapendo [Alfie] nonostante fosse loro consentito legalmente di portarlo via: avevano la documentazione.

L’Alder Hey ha detto alla polizia che Alfie è sotto la giurisdizione della Corte. L’aereo. Era già lì, pronto e in attesa: dovevamo partire entro un’ora. In quel momento l’Alder Hey non aveva alcun dovere di assistenza. Non hanno alcun diritto di somministrare farmaci o qualsiasi altra cosa. Non hanno il mio consenso o della madre. Possiamo riportare l’aereo domani. Ma la scorsa notte ci hanno messo in stallo di proposito, sapendo che l’aereo avrebbe dovuto ripartire in orario. Il ventilatore era stato approntato accanto al letto di Alfie dai nostri medici, qualificati quanto i medici dell’AH, pertanto vogliamo sapere perché i medici dell’AH hanno combattuto con i nostri medici che avevano l’obbligo di assistenza. Avevamo un aereo pronto sulla pista. Speriamo che l’AH subisca conseguenze per aver mentito alla polizia.

I giornalisti dicono che state soltanto acquistando tempo? Tom dice che non sto acquistando tempo, è Alfie che ci sta guidando in questo modo. Chiunque sia qui adesso ha il diritto di vivere, e abbiamo la libertà di muoverci. Metti le evidenze mediche da parte, chiunque ha il diritto di vivere. Abbiamo il diritto di lasciare il paese, abbiamo il diritto di vivere. Siamo figli di Dio. È semplice, nessun medico o giudice può giocare a fare Dio. Altri ospedali vogliono fare di più per mio figlio di quanto l’ha abbia fatto. Nessuno ha una diagnosi. L’Alder Hey ha mentito alla polizia. Dovranno subirne le conseguenze. Il giudice Hayden ha fatto false affermazioni [dicendo] che mio figlio ha una patologia mitocondriale. Ha letto le evidenze e se le leggesse accuratamente vedrebbe che non è [una patologia] mitocondriale. Ha un difetto mitocondriale ma non ha alcuna diagnosi.
Il giornalista chiede: chi era il medico? Il medico esterno aveva una abilitazione inglese per curare Alfie.

Ieri era tutto legittimo e legale. Aveva una licenza inglese per curarlo e potevamo essere partiti. Il giornalista chiede: cosa vi ha detto [L’Alder Hey]? L’AH non ci ha detto niente. Ci sono agenti di polizia che ci guardano nel caso facessimo qualcosa. C’era un’atmosfera pesante ieri, pensavano che stessi impazzendo, ma ero il più calmo là dentro ieri. Ero più calmo di loro. Per la verità, ero la persona più calma là dentro ieri. Non riguarda me o Kate. Riguarda Alfie Evans. Combatterà finché non ci dirà che morirà. Non l’AH, non io, non Kate. E certamente non il giudice. Sebbene il giudice abbia stabilito una data. Noi combattiamo finché Alfie non muore da solo. Non per un tubo staccatogli, quando soffoca e lui è sedato al massimo così che non possa respirare anche se ne avrebbe la capacità potenziale.

Stiamo facendo del nostro meglio per portarlo a un altro ospedale dove possa essere curato e abbia una diagnosi, per vedere se possiamo trovare una terapia. Adesso qual è il senso nello staccargli il tubo [che lo ventila] quando lo tollera al 100%. Non è sotto un’alta pressione. È a pressione stabile. Noi vogliamo portarlo a un altro ospedale che lo voglia. Qual’è il danno? Perché l’AH sta lottando così duramente con me e Kate? Cosa hanno da nascondere?
Alfie è sotto alte dosi di farmaci e l’AH sta evitando di ridurre le dosi. Non abbiamo dato alcun consenso o la nostra firma. I farmaci di Alfie sono stati manomessi mentre parliamo. Un polmone di Alfie è collassato. Come è collassato? È un bambino di 23 mesi e il suo polmone sta collassando in un reparto di terapia intensiva di uno dei “migliori” ospedali nel mondo, com’è che il polmone di mio figlio sta collassando là?

Ho ricevuto un video, che mi è stato inviato la scorsa notte, di un’infermiera che si è addormentata accanto a lui! Si addormentano accanto a lui e dicono che è uno dei pazienti più critici! L’AH vuole che io pubblichi questo? È negligenza. Ho le prove degli abusi, della negligenza. Alfie vuole uscire, non un altro giorno là dentro. È gli ospedali lo vogliono.
I giornalisti chiedono delle lamentele. Tom dice che non ha ricevuto lamentele, la protesta è stata pacifica. L’Alfie’s army è l’Alfie’s army, e quello che fanno è quello che fanno. Conosco un sacco di genitori in questo ospedale e ogni genitore è con me, mai nessun problema e nessuna lamentela dai genitori.
Siamo sempre rispettosi. È il momento che le persone comincino a rispettare anche noi, me e Kate e Alfie, e ci lascino la libertà di muoverci.
Giornalista: se Alfie andasse al Bambin Gesù e a causa di questo soffrisse? **rumore di fondo non sentiamo**
Tom chiede al giornalista se Alfie fosse estubato e dovesse soffrire, tu mi dai una risposta a questo!

Dovrebbe essere tracheostomizzato. Solo quattro membri della famiglia sono accettati nella stanza. Sarà bello per Alfie sentire il ventilatore sfilarsi dal suo naso e soffocare? Non causerà più danno di quanto è mai stato causato? Rispondi a questo (al giornalista) non risponderò a questo per te. Il giornalista chiede se c’è niente che possa convincere Tom che il NHS sta agendo nel miglior interesse di Alfie. Tom risponde: beh, cosa è successo ieri? Hanno mentito alla polizia! Hanno mentito a me e a Kate. Hanno mentito a Steven Woolfe. A che punto siamo con il NHS? Cosa stanno facendo ai nostri bambini? Fatti queste domande. Cosa ci riserva il futuro per i nostri bambini con disabilità? Mio figlio potrebbe avere una semplice diagnosi, con una semplice sindrome, gene difettoso, che potrebbe non essere curabile ma ancora essere trattabile sintomaticamente. Io credo abbia una diagnosi semplice. Se fosse danneggiato, il suo volto non sembrerebbe quello di un bambino addormentato che cerca di svegliarsi. Ho chiesto alle infermiere cosa causano le malattie neurodegenerative, tu lo vedi sulle loro facce, sui loro corpi. Alfie non è uno di questi. Alfie sta crescendo, e questo convince me e sua madre che questa non è una patologia che se lo porterà via presto.
E se fermiamo le sue convulsioni.
Per fare questo stiamo facendo il possibile.
E l’AH non ci vuole aiutare.
Se lo portiamo in un [altro] ospedale, forse possiamo fermare le sue convulsioni, forse possiamo avere una diagnosi, svegliare Alfie. All’AH stanno avendo paura.
Riguarda l’orgoglio e il denaro. Non riguarda Alfie per loro.

Cosa riserva il futuro per i nostri bambini con disabilità? È tutta una questione di soldi o della loro vita? Perché non dovresti valutare un bambino sulla base di una scansione del cervello. Tu giudichi un bambino nel suo migliore interesse davanti a te (frase poco chiara non capiamo bene). E io e Kate abbiamo miglior interesse di Alfie nel nostro cuore. 24/7 non siamo mai stati causa di un pericolo per lui, non abbiamo mai fatto niente di sbagliato. Adesso abbiamo i servizi sociali sul nostro caso. Hanno cercato di entrare ieri e non hanno potuto perché non c’era niente da fare.
Ieri quando ho provato a prendere mio figlio ho avuto gli agenti di polizia davanti alla mia faccia. Volevano farmi arrestare per potermi portare via mio figlio. Perché sanno che sto combattendo e ho ragione. E continuerò a combattere e so dov’è la linea [rossa] e io e Kate non l’abbiamo oltrepassata.
Stiamo andando avanti come ci sta dicendo Alfie e vogliamo essere rispettati.
Quello che stiamo facendo ce lo chiede Alfie e non vogliamo alcuna critica per quello che stiamo facendo, perché stiamo facendo al 100% per nostro figlio.
I medici non sanno fare una semplice tracheotomia qui, i medici non sanno nemmeno fare un semplice test di analisi dei capelli qui.
Altri offrono molto di più di AH, semplicemente.
AH in 15 mesi ci ha offerto solo di rimuovere il tubo, non ci hanno mai offerto un piano di trattamento.
Ho messo ogni singolo trattamento sul tavolo per mio figlio. Ho un libro pieno di trattamenti validi messi sul tavolo. Non mi hanno mai messo seduto per spiegarmi le conseguenze delle dosi di farmaco. Non mi hanno mai fatto sedere per chiedermi alcun consenso. Non mi hanno mai messo a sedere per dirmi qual è il piano di trattamento.
Mi hanno fatto sedere e mi hanno detto che cosa è nell’interesse di Alfie dal 31 dicembre 2016 fino ad ora: rimuovere il tubo, staccarlo dal ventilatore.
E non volevano rimetterglielo. Quanto è sbagliato.
Quando vedi un bambino che non è nemmeno in supporto vitale ma che ne ha bisogno di nuovo?
È andato oltre tutte le aspettative.
Anche se ha sfidato le aspettative, uccidiamolo, facciamolo morire. Questo è ciò che ci sta succedendo. Alfie è un combattente. AH hai fatto quello che ha fatto ora. È una situazione vincente per loro, se va via e muore, muore. Se non lo lasci andare, morirà. Non lo lascerò morire qui. Lo porterò a casa o in ospedale. Ci hanno tolto la possibilità dell’ospedale persino. Tutto ci hanno portato via.
È sbagliato. Non capisco cosa succede a quell’ospedale.

Il giornalista fa domande che non si riesce a sentire.
Tom risponde: Perché avevo la libertà di spostarlo.
Questo non è mai stato discusso nel caso.
Non c’è ordine di polizia nessun ordine di protezione o nessun ordine di custodia!
Non ho alcun ordine su di me. Se lo sposterò, sarò arrestato.

Giornalista: E ‘questo quello che per cui stai facendo appello?
Stiamo facendo appello alla libertà di movimento.
Abbiamo un appello lunedì ed è per la libertà di movimento.
Discuterò su quello che sta succedendo oggi e proseguirà con la libertà di movimento. Stanno cercando di usare le migliori tattiche per farmi arrestare per caricarmi, per farmi incazzare.
Alfie è contento. Non sto scalciando come un matto, non sto impazzendo. Sono più calmo che mai perché sapevo che si sarebbe arrivati a questo un giorno quando AH ha detto che lo faranno. Rimango calmo e devo rimanere sano di mente per il bene di Alfie.
E lo farò fino alla fine.La polizia è lì e possono arrestarmi per aggressione se provo a prendere Alfie.
Sono lì per proteggere l’ospedale
Ci sono volute 6 ore per fornire un ordine su di noi così che ora la polizia sta lì e ci controlla.
Voglio mantenere il rispetto verso gli altri genitori.
C’è la polizia ora e non sono come la polizia regolare, ma come in Matrix.
Hanno un avviso penale su me. La polizia deve stare a guardarmi cambiare il pannolino, dargli delle coccole.
La polizia è venuta per una risposta armata, come in Matrix di Icke. È intimidatorio per gli altri genitori
Ho detto ai poliziotti che voglio che i numeri diminuiscano. Non voglio che gli altri genitori provino paura.
Sto facendo quello che ho sempre avuto intenzione di fare, che è mio figlio sia libero da condanne.
Spero che tutti possano vedere ora cosa sta succedendo qui. Hanno mentito agli agenti di polizia. Hanno mentito al capo della polizia, Hanno mentito al soprintendente
Spero che ora le persone capiscano che AH ha torto
I dottori hanno ragione che Alfie ha un danno cerebrale.
Perché hai un po’ di danni al cervello non significa che devi essere ucciso.
Se domani ho un incidente e subisco un danno cerebrale del 20 %, vuol dire che devo morire?
No, non è così.
Si tratta di Alfie e ha il diritto di andarsene, e se dovesse succedere che lui muoia in Italia almeno ci abbia provato.
E almeno abbiamo cercato di raggiungere una diagnosi. E credo che in Italia raggiungeremo una diagnosi. Vogliamo andare in Italia.
Il Papa sa che vogliamo andare lì.

Tom risponde: vogliamo che il Papa prenda Alfie in cura ora.
Vogliamo l’asilo. Vogliamo andare in Vaticano dove l’ospedale è pronto. Vogliamo andare.
L’Italia parli! Dica all’ AH cosa fare. Hanno torto.
Quindi #SaveAlfie perché questo è sbagliato, questo è ingiusto.

Within 6 hours AH got this notice. AH stalled us for 6 hours on purpose. AH was putting pressure on Toms doctors, saying they are kidnapping him even though they were were allowed legally to take him out, they had the documentation. AH said to the police Alfie is warden of court. The plane was there ready and waiting. We had to leave within an hour. AH have no duty of care right now. They have no right to administer any drugs or anything. They have no consent by me and mum. We can bring back the plane tomorrow. But they stalled us last night purposefully, knowing that the plane had to leave on time. The ventilator was set up next to Alfies bed by our doctors equally qualified as AH doctors, so we want to know why did AH doctors fight against our doctors who have duty of care. We had a plane ready on the runway. We hope that AH will face consequences for lying to the police. Journalist says are you just buying more time? Tom says I am not buying time it is Alfie leading us this way. Everyone standing here now has the right to live, and we have the freedom to move. Put the medical evidence to the side, everyone has the right to live. We have the right to leave the country, we have the right to live. We are children of God. It’s simple no doctor or judge can play God. Other hospitals want to do more for my son than what AH has done. No one has a diagnosis. Alder hey has lied to the police. They have to face the consequences. Justice Hayden has made false claims my son has mitochondrial disease. He read the evidence and if he read it properly he’d see its not mitochondrial. He has a mitochondrial fault but he has no diagnosis. Journalist asks: Who was the doctor? The doctor from outside had a british license to treat Alfie.

Everything was legitimate and legal yesterday. She had a british license to treat him. And we could have left. Journalist asks, what have they (AH) said to you? AH have said nothing. There are police officers watching us in case we do something.
There was a major atmosphere yesterday they were thinking I was gonna go crazy, but I was the calmest one in there yesterday. I was more calmer than them. In fact, I was the most calmest person in there yesterday. It’s not about me or Kate. It’s about Alfie Evans. He is gonna fight until he will tell us he will die. Not AH, not me not Kate. And certainly not the judge. Even.though the judge has submitted the date. We fight until Alfie dies on his own.
Not a tube being pulled out of him when he suffocates and him being sedated to the max so he cant breathe even if he had the potential to breathe.
We are trying our best to take him to another hospital where he can be treated and diagnosed. To then see if we can unveil a treatment. Now where is the sense in taking a tube away from him in there which he 100 percent tolerated. He is not been under any high pressure. He is on stable pressure. We want to take him to another hospital that wants him there. Where is the harm? Why are AH fighting against me and Kate so hard?.What’s there to hide?
Alfie is being oh high doses medication and AH are avoiding to reduce the dose. We did not give consent or our signatures. Alfies drugs are being tampered with as we speak. Alfies lung just collapsed. How is it collapsing? He is a 23 month old boy and his lung is collapsing in intensive care in one of the “most best” hospitals in the world, how is my sons lung collapsing in there?
I have got a video that was sent to me last night of a nurse falling asleep next to him! Falling asleep next to my son and they are saying he is one of the most critical patients! DO AH want me to publish this??
It is faulty care. I have the evidence of the abuse, the neglect. Alfie wants out, not another day in here. And hospitals want him. Journalist asking about complaints. Toms says he didn’t get any complaints, protest was peaceful. Alfies army is Alfies army and what they do is what they do. I know a lot of parents in this hospital and every parent is right behind me, no problems and no complaints from parents ever.
We are always respectful
It’s time people start respecting us, me and Kate and Alfie and let us go with the freedom to move. Journalist: if Alfie goes to Bambinu Gesu and he suffers as a result (background noise can’t hear) Tom asks Journalist if Alfie’s tube is excubated and he suffers you tell me the answer to that!
He should be on a tracheostomy. Only 4 members of family allowed in the room. Will it be nice for Alfie to feel a ventilator being pulled out from his nose and suffocate? Is that gonna be causing the most harm that has ever been caused? Answer that (to the journalist) I am not answering it for you.
Journalist asking about if there is anything that would persuade Tom that the NHS (acting in his best interest? Difficult to hear) ..Tom answers: well what happened yesterday? They lied to the police! They lied to me and Kate. They lied to Steven Woolfe. Where do we stand with the NHS? What are they doing to our children? Ask yourself these questions. What does the future hold for our children with disabilities? My son could have a simple diagnosis, with a simple syndrome, gene fault, that may not be cured but could still be symptom treated. I believe he has a simple diagnosis. If he was deteriorating, his face would not look like a child sleeping trying to wake up.
I asked the nurses as well on the side about neurodegenerative diseases, you see it in their face, you see it in their body. Alfie is none of that. Alfie is growing, so that persuades me and mum that this is no disease that’s gonna take him anytime soon.
And if we stop his fits, that’s what we are trying in our best to do. And AH don’t wanna help us do it. If we take him to a hospital, possibly stop his fits, possibly get a diagnosis, Alfie wakes up. AH are going to be scared. It’s about the pride, it’s about the money. It’s not about Alfie for them.
What does the future hold for our children with disabilities? They all about the money or their life?
Because you shouldn’t judge a child on a brainscan. You judge a child on his best interest in front of you. And me and Kate have Alfies best interest at our heart. 24/7 never caused any harm to him, never done anything wrong. Now we have social services on our case. They tried to come in yesterday and couldn’t cause there us nothing to do.
Yesterday when I attempted to take my son I had police officers in my face.
They want me to get arrested so they can take my son away from me. Cause they know I am fighting and I am right.
And I will continue to fight and I know where the line is and me and Kate haven’t crossed it.

We are going on Alfie’s say and we want to be respected.
What we are doing is on Alfie’s say-so and we don’t want any criticism for what we are doing, because we are doing 100 percent right by our son.
Journalist asks question abt AH, but difficult to hear. Tom answers: Doctors can not do a simple tracheostomy here, doctors can not even do a simple hair analysis test here.

Others are offering alot more than AH, simple as that. AH only offered us for 15 months to remove the tube, they never offered us a treatment plan.
I put every single treatment on the table for my son. I have a book over a years worth of treatments that’s sat up on a table. They never sat me down we’re gonna find another hospital. They never sat me down and gone through the consequences of drug dosages. They never sat me down and gone through any consent. They never sat me down and told me what the treatment plan is.
They sat me down and said what is in Alfies best interest from the 31st Dec 2016 right up until now, to remove the tube from him, even when he was off the ventilator. He didnt want to put it back on him. How wrong is that. When you see a child that is not even on life support but who needs to go back on it? He has defied all odds.
Even though he as defied the odds, let’s kill him, let’s have him dead. That’s what’s it coming across to us. Alfie is a fighter. AH you have done what you’ve done now. It’s a win win situation , if he goes and dies he dies. If you don’t let him go he is gonna die. I am not gonna let him die here. I will take him home or to a hospital. They even took the hospital away from us. Everything they took away from us.

It’s wrong. I just don’t understand what goes on in that hospital.

There is no police order no protection order or no order of ward!
I got no order on me.
If I take him out I will be arrested. Is that what you are appealing? We are appealing the freedom of move. We have got an appeal on monday and it’s for the freedom of move.
I am gonna be arguing what is going on today and was going on yesterday with the freedom of move.
They are trying to use the best tactics to get me arrested to wind me up, to piss me off.
Alfie is content
I ain’t kicking off I ain’t going mad. I am as calm as ever cause I knew it was gonna come to this one day when AH said they are gonna do this. I remain calm and I gotta remain sane for Alfies sake.
And I will do that til the end
Police are there they can arrest me for assault if I try to take Alfie.
They are there to protect the hospital
They took 6 hours to provide an order on us which is the police sitting there and watching us.
I want to keep respect from the other parents. There is police there now and they are not like regular police, but like from the Matrix.
They have a penal notice on Tom. The police have to sit there watch him change his nappy, give him cuddles.
The police are from the armed response, that’s ike from the Matrix. That’s intimidating for the other parents
He told the police officers he wants the numbers to come down. I don’t want the other parents to feel fear.
I am doing what I always intended to do which is legally discharge my son.
I hope that everyone can see now what is happening here. Lying to police officers. Lying to the chief of police, lying to the superintendent
I hope now people realise that AH are in the wrong
Doctors are right that Alfie has braindamage. Cause you have a bit of brain damage doesnt mean you need to be murdered. If I have an accident tomorrow and suffer 20 percent brain damage, does that mean I have to die? No it doesnt.
It’s about Alfie and he’s got the right to move, whether he dies in Italy at least he has tried.
And at least we have tried to reach a diagnosis. And I believe in Italy we will reach a diagnosis. We want to go to Italy, the Pope knows we want to go there. WE ARE WAITING FOR THE POPE TO NOW SPEAK OUT AGAIN! We are gonna do a protest here today again a very peaceful one. Journalist: What do you want from the Pope? Tom answers: we want the Pope to take Alfie into his care now
We want asylum. We want to go to the Vatican where the hospital is there ready. We want to go.
Italy speak out. Tell AH what to do.
