«Autistic disorder is part of a group of development issues, merged in the internationally recognised classifications of “Pervasive Developmental Disorders”. I do not find it right to talk about disabilities, but rather about the art of living a life with ingenious adaptability. This world has not been created for those who have “all things set”; this world is of people with disabilities who, despite the serious shortcomings and the innumerable obstacles, struggle daily in pain to be seen simply for what they are, what they can and what they do! Society, even today, merely considers people with physical and mental disabilities, unsuitable, incapable, problematic; actually, they are endowed with a unique courage and willpower! Don’t look for solutions to include disability at all costs, rather begin to get rid of the stereotypes that ghettoize it».
